FUNDRAISING

We will be starting our annual magazine renewal drive on Tuesday, September 18th with QSP. QSP is a subsidiary of Reader's Digest and has helped our bands raise money through magazine renewals for the past 24 years.

Forty per cent of every magazine renewal is retained by the Manitou band program. Remember that renewal through the band costs no more than you would pay by subscribing directly to the publisher and we accept all publishers coupons. Every order is guaranteed by QSP. If you are unhappy with your order or have any problems, QSP will correct the problem or refund your money.

Tapes, CD's, and books can also be ordered through this program which also nets the band 40 cents for each dollar spent. Brochures with listings of all magazines, books, tapes, and CD's will be available from band students.

Proceeds will be used for the following purposes:
High School Bands: Spring Trips
Middle School Bands: Low Brass Instruments
(french horns/baritone horns/tubas, to be used by middle school bands) band student.

INK CARTRIDGES (Box located in the Band Room)

To: Mantiou Band Students and Parents and Local Supporters:
At last, a fundraiser that requires no selling! We are pleased to announce that our band will be working with Cartridges For Cash, LLC to raise funds this school year. This program is a simple, quick and easy way for us to fundraise. Please collect all your empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges. Most commonly used cartridges are accepted including HP, Lexmark, Canon, Dell, Brother, IBM, Xerox and many others. Remanufactured cartridges as well as Epson, may not be recycled. If you are unsure if your cartridge can be recycled, send it in and we will take care of the rest. Empty inkjet and laser cartridges can be collected from printers at home. Parents we encourage you to collect cartridges from your places of employment. Also don't forget to ask family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to save their empties for you too. Cartridges should be sent to school and placed in the collection box in the band room. We will collect these cartridges throughout the school year. Empty cartridges should be put in a Ziploc bag and wrapped in a cellophane to prevent any possible leakage on hands, clothing, backpacks, etc. In addition, please collect old cell phones and send them to school. We can recycle the phones too. Send the phones to school in a ziploc bag. With your help this will be an extremely easy and profitable fundraiser. And isn't it nice to know that by helping our school raise needed funds, we are helping to protect out environment. Recycling for a cause is what this is all about. Help us raise money and help our children learn about the benefits of recycling. Thanks for your assistance and continued support of our Manitou Band! This program has the potential to be our biggest fundraiser ever without selling anything.
