Beth Campbell, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction

Beth works with administrators and teachers to guide curriculum, instruction, professional development, and assessment work and decisions, as well as leading the district's accountability and accreditation processes at the federal, state, and district levels. Prior to joining the Manitou Leadership Team in July 2005, she held positions as Director of Instruction in the Johnstown-Milliken School District, as secondary literacy coach, and as a secondary classroom teacher in language arts and social studies. In addition to her education background, Beth has served as an administrative assistant to the dean of Drake Law School in Iowa, as administrative assistant on former Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray's political campaigns, and as a paralegal in Massachusetts. She received her B.A. degree from Upper Iowa University, her M.A. degree from Drake University, and her Principal's leadership degree from the University of Denver. Currently, Beth is completing her Superintendent's leadership program at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Beth has presented at multiple workshops and conferences on literacy and standards-based education. Her daughter Anne lives and works in NYC as a program manager for an educational non-profit, and her son John just completed two years in the Peace Corps in Peru.
