The five member elected Board of Education meets in the SILC building on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. The first meeting of the month is a work session and no formal actions are taken. The second meeting of the month is a formal meeting and includes extensive administrative reports and action items. The primary work of the Board is to develop District policies and to insure policy implementation. Board of Education Goals 2004-2008 1. Continue to implement a K-12 coordinated curriculum. 2. Ensure effective and efficient use of District resources for academic achievement to achieve the Mission Statement and Learner Goals while advancing our Vision. 3. Create a climate that encourages and rewards innovation, leadership capacity, and professional growth. 4. Efficiently maintain and enhance the value of District facilities and grounds. 5. Identify and address issues related to District enrollment levels. 6. Continue the tradition of supporting strong community values. 7. Gain regional, state, and national recognition for District 14 students, staff, and programs through active engagement in professional organizations and networks, and through proactive communications. 8. Strengthen communication among students, staff, and community and the Board of Education. Board members are elected to four year terms of office and are “term limited” to eight years on the Board.
