Board of Education
The Manitou Springs Board of Education (BOE) consists of 5 members elected to four-year terms. The BOE meets once a month. This date is usually the fourth Monday of the month; however, there are months that require earlier meetings. Please check with the district administration at 685-2024 for specific dates and times of yearly BOE meetings. The fundamental work of the BOE is to establish the direction of the district, set organizational goals, and monitor the progress of the district towards those goals. The BOE Directors have developed a series of ends statements and executive limitations to direct their work based on multiple community meetings and outreach. The ends statements are embedded in the district’s mission of establishing deep, meaningful relationships; creating academically rigorous courses; and providing multiple opportunities for students to engage in a wide range of activities.
Steve Weimer, Board President

Molly Stevens, Board Vice President
Molly was elected to the Board of Education in November, 2009. She has been a resident of Green Mountain Falls for thirteen years. Her children attend Ute Pass Elementary School. Molly has a business degree from Indiana University and has worked as an elementary education teacher and in human resources in the education sector. She came into public education through Teach For America, and has long held the belief that “all children should have access to an excellent education”. She has seen that the teachers and staff in the Manitou Springs School District 14 work very hard to ensure that all children are achieving and growing, and receiving that “excellent education”.
