If you are interested in applying for the Mountain Academy of Arts and Sciences (MAAS) 6th grade program at Ute Pass Elementary, please fill out the MAAS Application and select “Mountain Academy of Arts and Sciences - UPES 6th grade" for your application type.
Students will be asked to respond to three essay questions as part of the application. These essay questions are intended to give students an opportunity to express their interest in the program with both parents/guardians and teachers. The essays will not be used as a factor in determining acceptance. The questions are provided in advance so that students can consider their responses before completing the application.

MAAS applications for the 2026–2027 school year will be accepted beginning January 1, 2026.
- Current MSSD14 5th graders should submit application by February 1st, 2026 for priority placement
- The program is capped at 48 students
- All applications must be completed online
- Notification will begin early March 2026
