Accredited with Distinction
Manitou Springs School District has been recognized by the Colorado Department of Education as an Accredited with Distinction school district, the highest rating a Colorado school district can achieve.
"This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and families working together to make learning meaningful and impactful. By grounding our work in researched, proven practices and coupling that with caring environments where every student is known, heard, and understood, we’ve been able to gain real traction in student achievement and growth.” said Sean Dorsey, Superintendent of Schools for Manitou Springs School District 14. "This recognition is a direct reflection of the great leadership in our buildings that supports great teaching."
This designation is awarded to districts that earn a 74% or more of the possible points on the state’s District Performance Framework (DPF), a rating based on student outcomes across three key performance indicators: Academic Achievement, Academic Growth, and Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness.
