Provides child welfare and social services to residents of El Paso County. Services include adult self-sufficiency, investigation of adult and child abuse, day care licensing, work-incentive programs, foster care licensing, subsidized adoptions, custody evaluations, child protective services, resolution of parent/child conflicts, on-going foster care services (currently contracted with private agencies), investigation of child neglect complaints, assessment of need for protection against child abuse, and provision of cash assistance, food stamps, and Medicaid. Services for the developmentally disabled are also available.
