Communication and transparency is very important at Manitou Springs School District. We work hard to keep families, staff, and the community informed of happenings in and around the schools.

Through the use of social media, the district’s website, and partnerships with local media (i.e., newspaper, television, radio), we share stories that are significant at MSSD14.

The communications team works on releasing information in a timely manner by utilizing:
  • District’s website
  • Mass notifications to parents via text, phone, and email
  • Mobile district app alerts
  • News releases and announcements
  • Social media posts
We also provide assistance and training to school administrators regarding effective relations with the news media.

MSSD14 Internal Communication Support
The Communications Team is dedicated to supporting all MSSD14 departments and schools with their marketing and communications efforts. Please email the Communications Specialist with requests for story coverage.

While the Communications Specialist will strive to accommodate requests, please understand that time and staffing constraints may limit the ability to fulfill all requests.

To ensure adequate preparation, please provide the following notice periods:

Two (2) weeks notice for:
  • Event photography
  • Simple video recordings


Four (4) weeks notice for:
  • Press releases
  • Event coordination
  • Simple videos requiring edits
  • Infographics

If we are unable to fulfill your story request, but you still desire coverage, please take pictures and/or videos of the event and email them, along with a synopsis, to the Communications Specialist.
